Project Overview.
This Surrey Hills project was a full custom build shaped to fit a narrow alleyway along the side of the home. The brief required a sauna that felt considered, integrated, and elevated without compromising access or flow through the outdoor space.
We lined the interior and exterior in Thermory Pine, chosen for its clean, contemporary grain and exceptional performance in outdoor conditions. The entry features a custom-made Western Red Cedar door, designed to bring warmth, contrast, and durability to the façade.
Inside, the sauna includes two levels of seating with a continuous backrest, paired with LED lighting both behind the backrest and beneath each bench for a soft, refined glow. Outside, a discrete downlight provides safe entry during evening use.
Heating is handled by a Harvia The Wall Black unit with Wi-Fi compatibility, allowing the client to control preheat times from anywhere — a modern convenience that suits their lifestyle.
A custom outdoor shower completes the space, turning the side passage into a functional wellness zone directly connected to the pool area. The finished result integrates seamlessly with the home’s existing layout, making previously unused space feel intentional and inviting.
The client was thrilled with the outcome, noting how naturally the sauna fits into the property and how it has elevated their everyday routine. Their full review is included below.
