Project Overview.
Set above Berry’s Beach in Ventnor, this holiday home offered the perfect backdrop for a truly immersive sauna experience. The brief was to create a warm, coastal retreat that captured the surrounding views while delivering the performance of a high-end traditional sauna.
We designed a full custom fit-out featuring a complete Western Red Cedar interior. The bench layout includes two tiers with a graceful fanned corner, allowing the seating to flow seamlessly around the room and maximise both comfort and space.
A large picture window frames the ocean outlook, giving the sauna a calm, expansive feel especially at sunrise and sunset. Outside the sauna, a pool sits just steps away, creating a natural hot-cold routine for guests and the homeowners.
Lighting is integrated throughout, with LEDs under each bench and behind the backrest, providing a soft, ambient glow that enhances the cedar’s warmth without distracting from the coastal view.
Heating is delivered by the Saunum Pro Experience 9 kW system, complete with an automatic water dispenser and full Wi-Fi control. This setup combines traditional steam with advanced air-mixing technology for a consistent, balanced heat throughout the room.
The result is a refined, tranquil retreat that pairs perfectly with the beachside setting a space where the view, the materials, and the experience work together effortlessly. The client was thrilled with how naturally it integrates into their holiday home.
