Project Overview.
This Mt Waverley project involved the installation of a Horizon outdoor sauna beside the client’s pool, designed to enhance their outdoor living experience. The project centered around creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing wellness space that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding landscape.
Measuring approximately 3.0m x 2.4m externally, with an internal sauna size of 2.2m x 2.2m, the design prioritizes comfort while delivering a striking visual presence. This installation presented several unique challenges, particularly regarding its removable easement build, ensuring flexibility for future modifications.
One of the standout features of this sauna is the large double-glazed viewing wall, which not only frames the pool area but also floods the interior with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. This glazing enhances the sauna’s connection to the outdoors, making it feel spacious while maintaining excellent thermal performance.
The sauna is equipped with a Huum 12 kW heater, selected for its efficiency and ability to provide a premium traditional sauna experience. The heater’s substantial stone capacity ensures even heat distribution, creating a soothing environment and producing excellent steam when water is applied to the stones.
The interior features Thermo Aspen lining, which adds warmth and a natural aesthetic, complemented by floating benches that maximize space and airflow. These design elements work together to create a relaxing environment tailored to the client’s wellness routine.
While the project required careful planning to address site constraints and ensure seamless integration with the pool area, the result is a beautifully finished sauna that enhances the outdoor living experience. This installation stands out not only for its elegant design but also for the meticulous craftsmanship involved in its construction.
